Investigating Gettysburg III: The Pavilion and Atmospheric Static

After dinner, we headed over to a public pavilion to wait out the twilight. As we were waiting, we set out our k2s to see if anyone happened to be around us. I had felt transient energy (see my previous post about ghost soldiers wandering about) and thought perhaps we might catch someone passing through. Sure enough, a few people showed up.

The k2 at the end of the table lit up like a Christmas tree. Another soldier wanting help to cross to the spirit realm. We asked a series of yes or no questions, and then all of a sudden the k2 got quiet. The ghost was still there, but he had used his energy answering questions. I used my energy field skills to provide him with a boost and he returned to answering questions for us. I once again called on AA Michael to help transport this person to the spirit realm, and a portal opened up about 4 feet next to me. I asked if he saw friends, family and others of his unit on the other side, and he confirmed he did. As he passed through the portal, another soldier stepped up, almost as if he had been waiting in line behind the first soldier to talk to me. I explained that he and anyone else who wanted to cross into the spirit world were welcome to do so, and asked that the portal stay open long enough to allow for that. Shortly after the second soldier passed through the portal, the k2 went quiet, and I no longer felt the presence of active spirits.

Paul had wanted to go up to the train tracks to do some investigating up there, but Emily and I both got an intensely eerie feeling related to the tracks themselves. The closer we got, the more my internal alarm bells were ringing. Emily felt the same. Despite her body moving in a forward direction, I could actually feel her energy trying to retreat. I told Paul that I was getting a giant stop sign from my spirit guides - he was welcome to proceed with investigating on the tracks but it was a hard no for Emily and me. I learned long ago to listen when my guides tell me not to do something.

With the attempt to investigate the railroad tracks thwarted, we decided to make our way over to the Old Almshouse cemetery. Paul has previously had good communication there with a spirit named "Sarah." I'm here to say now that we've left and I put some things together that it absolutely wasn't who it said it was. Almost immediately upon walking into the graveyard Emily was put on edge. I could feel the anxiety oozing off of her. Paul set up the portal box and we put out the k2s, which were absolutely going haywire. Below is a video clip of me trying to figure out if the headstone itself could have possibly been setting off the k2s. Paul said he's been in the graveyard and had absolutely no activity before, so it wasn't likely that the stone was the culprit.

The MEL meter, set up on the next head stone over was oscillating with energy as well. Random words were coming out of the portal box, but no intelligent responses were being given. I wasn't feeling any sort of indication that there was an active presence in our immediate vicinity, but Emily's eyes were glued to the back of the cemetery near a stand of trees. "Mom. Do you see anything back there?" she asked me. I looked toward where she was pointing and the hair on the back of my neck stood up. Oh I saw it alright, but I didn't know how to tell her in that moment that she spotted a skin walker. I told her some things we just don't acknowledge. Interestingly, as soon as I had stepped foot in the cemetery myself I had this strong urge to get out my Palo Santo. Well after Emily pointed out the skin walker, I immediately got it out and lit it.

Later on in the car as we drove away I explained to her that this was one of the reasons she needed to develop a good working relationship with her spirit team. I learned the hard way when I engaged a mimic that I needed to ask my team before I engaged with any spirit, because things aren't always what they seem. I told her that I saw what she sensed, but in the moment I couldn't tell her what it was because it wouldn't have ended well for us.

After exhausting any plausible explanations for why the k2s were being set off without an active spirit presence, Emily said "maybe it's just residual energy." And I got "residual static" from the thunderstorms that had passed through the area. That got me wondering. The conventional thinking is that thunderstorms give spirits energy, but what if the opposite is true? What if instead of 'charging' ghosts, it actually disrupts their fields? Because out in this open field, with all of this residual energy about, I detected not a single ghost. But at the pavilion where the ambient atmosphere wasn't charged, we had several pass by. Our experience on Sach's Bridge in the thunderstorm would support this hypothesis. I'll have to find out a way to gather more data to support or refute this hypothesis.
