Linville Manor: Bonus - the Conservatory
As Emily and I left the red room, she mentioned feeling a calling toward what I called the "garden room" but what is officially called 'the Conservatory" by the owner. "I really like this room," she said. As a parent first I was ready to blow it off and dismiss it, but something in me knew that she was called to this particular room for a reason. I looked at her and said "well it's calling you for a reason, so let's go take a look." We walked through the billiard room and into the Conservatory and I was immediately hit with an immense sense of darkness. There was a definite presence in the room, but I couldn't discern what it was. I explained to Emily that typically when I sense energy but can't tell immediately if it's old or young, male or female, that meant that it was something dark. Winn had previously referred to a 'trickster' spirit in the house that tended to hang out in this particular room. I wondered if what I was sensing was this entity.
We left the room and walked back downstairs to find Winn and Tom in the dining room. I told him about our experience with Sarah, but then asked him about the entity hiding out in that garden room. "I don't know what's going on in there, but it's the only room that I don't linger in. Despite owning this place, I've never spent the night in that room." Tom felt called up to check it out, so he went up to try to get a sense of what was going on. He came back down and said he felt a woman's presence, that she was in pain and didn't want anyone to be in the room. He felt a message of "get out! you don't belong here." I think the presence in that particular room presents itself however it thinks will garner the most sympathy from whomever is in the room. I have a sense that dark energy in general either influences through fear or through sympathy/empathy. So it either scares you by presenting itself as your worst fear or lulls you into a false sense of security by appealing to your most empathetic tendencies. Winn reported someone feeling tickling on their toes while they tried to sleep in the room. After several repeated sensations, the person noped out of the room and didn't return.
He also told a story of another set of investigators who granted permission for this entity to enter another room in the house, but after the entity misbehaved, they locked it in place for the duration of the night. The other resident ghosts of the house came out and thanked the investigators by making their presence known. Yeah, whatever is in that room is dark. It's going to take me a minute to puzzle out what is going on there, but I guarantee I'll get to the bottom of it.
