A visit from an old friend

| Teddy was such a handsome boy! |
In meditation this morning, I happened to ask my guides about my orange girl Penny. She came into my life when I wasn't planning on adopting a cat. (the cat distribution system is real, folks). As it turns out, she was born about the time that I ended my marriage. I was drawn to her and realized that she needed to become a new member of my house. It was the universe sending me a sign. I had always thought based on the serendipity that she was the soul of the orange boy that I lost nearly two years ago, Teddy. Teddy was also serendipitous - he showed up (CDS!) one cold February night and I took pity on him. That was just a few short months before I got pregnant with my twins. At the very least, if Penny wasn't Teddy's soul, then Teddy definitely had a hand in her coming into my life.
Anywho, I asked my spirit guides if Penny was in fact Teddy. That was a clear no (turns out my son was right about that!). So then I asked if Teddy had a hand in sending Penny to me. I'll never forget what happened next. As I sat there in meditation, the cat brush, which until this point was firmly seated on the ottoman at the other end of the couch, fell onto the floor with a loud crash.
Confused, I looked down at the brush on the floor, and then up at the ottoman. It was Teddy! I guess that was the universe's sign confirming the answer to my question. Upon seeing him, I started crying. He was such a good boy, and the circumstances around his euthanasia were quite traumatic for me. He had been in decline and we had plans to have him euthanized at home, but before we could get there he went into respiratory distress. We had to rush him to the vet and have him euthanized immediately. He was such a sweet boy, and my son's best friend. Everyone in the family took the loss pretty hard.

My two dinguses: Nova (black) and Penny (buff)
And here he was, paying me a visit! He got up from his perch on the ottoman, walked across the couch, and laid down next to me. I was so happy to see him. I thanked him for sending me Penny, and told him he was welcome to visit me any time. I had wished that my girls could have met him. If I hadn't become spiritually awakened, I would have likely missed this visit. It's entirely possible he's visited me before this happened, and I completely missed it. I'm so grateful to having been given these gifts. Each day I learn something new both about myself and about the spiritual realm. It's fascinating.
