Linville Manor, Part I: Greeting the Property
Thursday evening, Tom shared an event with me that he was invited to as a panelist. A few years ago, he had been invited to investigate Linville Manor, in Upper Marlboro Maryland with a group of other mediums and paranormal investigators. The owner of the property was holding an event about the history of the property and Tom and his group’s findings, followed by a paranormal investigation. Tom had mentioned his investigation previously, and it seemed intriguing. What I was told was “It’s got tons of activity.” I hesitated just for a moment, but knew ultimately I needed to go.
As typical, I asked my guides in meditation yesterday if it was still a good idea to go, and was told by them “You already know the answer to that question.” Indeed, I did. Something was pushing me to go, so it was all clear. My daughter had been itching to go to another investigation with me since we visited the Sanctuary of the Strange, so she came along. We arrived about 30 minutes earlier than the start of the event, which I realized was time I needed to become acclimated to the property itself. I had asked my guides before I left for the event to guide and protect me. Something told me there would be no time once I got there to sit and ask for that guidance. Before I get to the events that transpired, I think it’s important to note that in my pre-visit meditation, my higher self told me that I needed to stop trying to control my interactions with spirit. I had been holding on too tightly, and it was hindering my ability to sense everything I needed to sense. I took that seriously, and told my higher self and my guides that I was going to open myself up completely and put my security in the hands of my guides that evening.

I got my bearings and we entered the house. I heard Tom’s voice in the house, so I went to find him. He and the owner of the house were entering the basement. We made our way downstairs, and I introduced myself and Emily to the owner. This was the first time Tom and Emily met one another. The owner had done an incredible amount of work restoring the property, including the basement. The two gentlemen were discussing the improvements to the basement, which had been turned into a speakeasy. The spirit energy was a little less intense down there, so it was nice that it was the first place we toured. After a few minutes of touring the basement, we made our way back upstairs. By the time we did, the author of the Linville book had arrived and was on the back stoop. I stepped out the back door and made our introductions. I made a comment about the dog - which I thought was male - and Rob (the author) mentioned that the dog, Lady, had been shot because she was mistaken for a coyote. Her untimely death didn’t seem to phase her a bit. She was super happy and running around greeting everyone with her tail wagging.

We walked through the library into the dining room. This was the room where I saw the woman ghost peeping through the window at us, but she wasn’t in the room when we walked through. There wasn’t much to say about this room energy wise, so we walked through and into the lounge. The energy in the lounge was intense. It was incredibly heavy and even just standing next to the room made my head swirl again. Tom felt it too. He said the energy here was completely different from the last time he visited, and was curious as to why things felt so different there. The owner happened to walk by as we were discussing this and said a few things had happened in the house over the past week, and he wondered if that was the cause of the intense energy we were feeling. We would wind up learning later that evening that there was another reason why everything seemed so oppressive. There were two ghosts hanging around in the lounge. The female ghost there wound up taking a protective stance toward Emily later in the evening, when she and Tom were chatting with her. The other ghost was a man who liked to hang out literally in the corner. I didn’t get a lot from him. The talk was about to begin, so we all made our way toward the ballroom, which was adjacent to the lounge.
The Panel Discussion
Linville Manor’s owner opened the discussion with a reel from a local news company, who featured the property and a preview of the ghost energy in a snippet. He spent some time discussing the history of the property, which in and of itself is quite interesting. There are ties to the Bowie family of Maryland - the ones that founded the town. The original home, which burned down, dates back to the late 1600’s. The panelists spent some time discussing their experience with some of the ghosts of the house, in addition to giving an overview of the spirit realm to the guests in attendance. Whilst we were listening, I felt someone looking in the window on my right. We would later learn that one of the panelists saw someone else looking through the window that was in their view. The discussion went on for about an hour or so. At one point, someone in the room tried to enter my body. I got a surge of energy, my head started spinning, and could feel them trying to take me over. I have a strict “Do not enter” policy with spirits and ghosts, so I pushed him out and told him that it was unacceptable. He understood, and I would encounter this person several more times throughout the evening.
During the Q&A portion of the discussion, I asked the owner if he was opposed to me doing some energy work in the lounge. I told him there was some negative energy in there that needed to be addressed. I promised that whatever I did wouldn’t interfere with the resident ghosts and residual energy, but that there needed to be some cleansing. My guides had specifically told me to employ my energy work in that room. “You know what needs to be done, so do it” they said. The owner seemed hesitant at first but ultimately got the sense of my intentions. The panel concluded with a refreshment break. I caught up with Tom during the break and told him what I was about to do. Since Tom could see into the spirit realm, I was curious if he could see the bubble I was about to create. I’m not going to sugar coat it. I was really eager to get some validation of the work that up until that evening I had been doing with my guides alone. He agreed to come check it out.
As others mingled about during the break, I found a foot stool that I moved into the center of the lounge, and sat down to begin my work. Emily took a seat on one of the couches in the room. I typically pull Earth energy when doing this work, but I found it to be a struggle. It took a bit to store up enough energy to release it. As I was doing so, people were milling about in the room. At one point the owner had entered with two of the other evening’s guests and were having a conversation about a doll in the room. The female guest had discussed that she collected haunted items. I found this really interesting because I was drawn to her during the panel discussion. I had never before seen someone who had a black haze over their face - it was incredibly striking. I knew then and there she had some dark energy hanging about her person.
After a few minutes, I finally felt like I had stored enough energy to release it into the room. In the midst of creating my bubble, I heard Emily try to get my attention. I needed all of my focus on controlling the release of the energy I had stored, so I gently shook my head to let Emily know “not now.” I had previously been guided to practice moving energy over water, which with its slight electronegativity is immensely resistive. But it did not come close to the resistance I was feeling as I was trying to release and expand the energy I created. I was getting so much pushback! I couldn’t identify the source, but I can liken it to trying to walk through thick mud. As I was finishing, Tom walked into the room and took a seat on the other couch. As he sat down, he looked at me and said “so tell me about this energy bubble you’ve created here. I felt it as I walked through it. It's intense! It’s oblong - about 5 feet wide and 6 feet tall.” I smiled and explained to him what I experienced. Low Earth energy flow and resistance to releasing the energy. We agreed we’d investigate in the basement later to see what was blocking the Earth’s energy flow. Later I would discover that there was a whole slew of electrical lines under the floor as well as decently sized copper pipe. That explained the blocked Earth energy. I’d discover later in the evening that the resistance to the bubble could be attributed to the presence of Jacob upstairs. On the drive home, Emily told me she tried to get my attention because she spotted the female ghost walking across the room as I was generating the energy bubble.
