Linville Manor, III a & b: Jacob
Part III a: Jacob
Tom had left the basement while we were trying to engage Henry and Al to have a look around the rest of the house. He said there was really strong energy in the first room on the right at the top of the stairs. We all made our way up from the basement and up to the second floor. Each of us who are sensitive, in turn, made the same comment as we reached the landing on the stairs. “Whoa.” It felt like walking into an energy field that only got stronger as we ascended the staircase. As we approached that first room on the right, the air was thick and hot with energy. Tom, myself, Emily, and Monique sat down in the small room to try to figure out what was going on. The energy was stifling. Tom mentioned that he saw an older man - scraggly and unkempt. Monique was scrying in the mirror and asked if we were picking up indigenous vibes. I didn’t get that feeling. We all sat and tried to make sense of what we were picking up. There was a definite sense of anger and frustration in the room.

We continued the discussion for some time. Jacob didn’t have any living relatives. He didn’t know why he was called to this particular space. He wasn’t one of the resident ghosts. “Is there anyone in the room who can help you, Jacob?” the rods immediately pointed to Tom. We later learned of all the synergies that led to the course of the evening. After some further discussion, we learned that Monique had purchased a picture of Jacob in his Navy uniform earlier in the day from an antique store. The picture being in the house is what drew Jacob to the space. Monique had been pointed to the location of the antique store by the house owner. She had no previous intention of going. On her way out, Jacob’s picture had been calling to her, so she decided to purchase it. The homeowner mentioned the antique store had recently downsized. He postured that perhaps Jacob was afraid his picture would be lost forever, never to be recognized again.
The synergies continued. Unbeknownst to us, the room where Jacob was found was where the homeowner kept his family’s military paraphernalia. The previous evening, Monique was conversing with another military spirit. There was a framed picture of someone else in military regalia in the hall next to Jacob’s room. Someone used Google lens to try to identify the person in the picture. Eerily enough, the AI misidentified Jacob’s picture as that of JFK in his navy uniform. Both JFK and Jacob had been murdered by being shot in the head. We were all blown away. The coincidences were just too much. Universal synchronicities are just crazy. I’m always astounded by them. Monique purchasing the picture and Jacob showing up on the exact day that Tom was there to be able to help him. Rob correctly identified that Jacob wasn’t a ghost. He in fact had crossed, but was struggling in the spirit realm. We had learned a lot about Jacob by then. He was honorably discharged from the Navy. He served on the same submarine as I had in a previous life, so we knew each other. Another synchronicity. He was either awarded the bronze star or purple heart, or both. Later in life, with his mental health struggles he succumbed to alcoholism. He was executed as a homeless man on the streets of Chicago. His murder was avenged and was reported in the local newspapers. Tom asked Jacob if he wanted him to help him then and there. The dousing rods gave an affirmative yes. By this point several of the other investigators had joined us in the room. In total there were probably ten of us. Tom decided, then and there, to open a portal to the spirit realm to help Jacob in his journey.
Part III b: The portal and the ascension
This was a first for me. I had seen portals open spontaneously many times by now, but I had never been a part of a group who was intentionally opening a portal. During the panel discussion portion of the evening, Rob had mentioned his belief that there are three levels to the spirit realm. The first was where spirits who had unfinished business resided. Often they have residual feelings of guilt, shame, anger, or fear - all lower frequency vibrations. They remain at that level until they resolve those feelings and heal. I had never heard this theory before, but it seemed to make sense. It works in a similar fashion for those of us in the living realm. It’s hard to connect to spirit with feelings of fear, anger, guilt, or resentment. Jacob had a lot of fear and pain that he needed to resolve. Those of us in the room held hands and were led by Tom in the calling upon spirit and opening of a portal to help Jacob. We all focused our energy in the center of the circle, and each of us felt the energy of the portal as it widened and encompassed us. Many present reported feeling hot.

Troy called on Jacob’s Navy friends, his family, and anyone who might help him release these feelings of guilt and shame and be able to join them on the next spiritual level. He opened the circle briefly to let Jacob in. I became overwhelmed with Jacob’s sense of shame and sadness and blurted out “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Tom led with gentle words and encouraged Jacob. No one on the spirit side held resentment against Jacob, and Tom helped him realize that. I began sobbing. Heavy, hot tears rolled down my cheeks as Jacob released all of his feelings. Jacob’s mother arrived, and I felt the sense of relief as he immediately began shedding his shame. I heard him call out to his mother: “Mama!” We all witnessed Jacob’s healing. Tom described the scene, as Jacob moved into the light and the portal began to close. Afterward, Rob looked at me and asked me if I felt Jacob’s pain. I acknowledged I did, and said I had been sobbing as quietly as I could manage. Monique asked if anyone witnessed Jacob reverting to a child; I replied that I heard him call out to his mother saying “Mama!” The feeling in the room immediately lightened. Whatever negative energies Jacob had brought with him dissipated. Tom would later learn that the resident ghosts of the house had purposely stepped aside in deference to Jacob’s presence in the house. They knew that the living were there to help Jacob, and didn’t want to distract from the work to be done.
